Midthunder is a member of the Fort Peck Tribe of Assiniboine. She is originally of the Navajo Nation of Shiprock in New Mexico. After spending the majority of her youth in Santa Fe (where she went to the Academy for Technology and the Classics and where her mom worked at a casting company) She returned to her home. Amber's dad is Native American, and they are both enrolled in the Fort Peck Sioux Tribe. Amber's mother was adopted and so Amber is of unknown mix ancestry. Prey has a majority Native American cast including an incredible first-timer Dakota Beavers, as Naru's brother and producer Jhane Myers. He is Comanche and Blackfeet and advised the production in a number of ways. Because of the era that the film was set in, the actors were not able to cast any dog. Coco as the character's animal Sarii in the film, was cast for her particular special breed, the American Dingo. Carolina Dog is a breed that's been around for centuries.
There is another message in this whole thing. Throughout the film, TJ narrates the love he has for Amanda and how she is everything to him (although there are parts of his narration that is likely to be about the daughter if we analyze the story further). He reveals his feelings for her, but she rejected him because she was in a relationship with Daniel. Then, Jack married Amanda and after her death Emily revealed her true identity. In the years since the two have been best buddies. In the last episode they get married. Amanda gets married to Wilf only before midnight. The prize pot's total winnings is won by a single person.
